EPR Consultation

EPR Consultation

India generates more than 25,000 tonnes of plastic garbage every day, of which 40% are not collected and end up as environmental litter. Recycling has been hailed as the solution to the problem of so much plastic getting into the food chain. People are becoming more aware of how plastic pollution affects territorial and aquatic life. Global plastics waste volumes would increase from 260 Million tons per year in 2016 to 460 Million tons per year by 2030 if plastics consumption continues on its current trend, intensifying an already severe environmental issue.

This is where Extended Producer Responsibility, often known as EPR comes into the picture. It is nothing but a producer’s agreement to support a reverse collection system and recycle end-of-life, post-consumer waste. The goal is to recycle the waste back into the system in order to recover the resources it contains.

In 2016, EPR was mandated by the government, and there are several incentives that you can avail by following simple EPR guidelines.

India has recently passed legislation that formalizes the idea of extended producer responsibility for e-waste and plastic packaging waste.

We at Plastoconomy Foundation, an Indian Startup, help manufacturers and brand owners in this reverse logistics with customized solutions for your business along with helping you implement and execute them. We’ve got the expertise and experience you need to help you lead in the right direction.

Main Elements In Our EPR Model

Logistics

We provide reverse logistics consultation to treat the waste. It includes advisory on how to source or get back the post-consumer waste to treat it effectively.

Inclusion Model

We provide you with resources, information and CSR strategy based on the inclusion model. Where you can employ women from low income groups to help you in the initiative with reward based compensation.

Public Awareness

We hold major awareness drives related to collecting the post-consumer waste back. The drives are spread across all the platforms to gain more traction and spread more awareness.

At Plastoconomy Foundation, we give consultation and solution for the following plastic waste:

MLP (Multi Layered Plastic)

Most businesses utilize multi-layered plastic packaging for the wrappers on their snacks, chocolates, and biscuits. This combines plastic with other materials including paper, paper board, polymeric components, layers of metal, or aluminum foil. Perishables may be stored safely with the aid of this packaging, but the designers did not give enough care to MLP recycling options. The majority of MLP is either dumped in the landfills or spread across the country illegally, due to low waste management options with higher costs. But, our solutions are easy to implement and not heavy on the pocket.

PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

PET, also known as polyethylene terephthalate, is a widely used packaging material with a high recycling potential. We at Plastoconomy, strive to salvage PET from the garbage that is gathered from various sources and redirected to recycling plants where it is turned into upcycled products. Following that, this is transformed into recycled goods.

Our EPR Consultation aims to accomplish the following objectives:
